Lough Lene Gaels conceded a stoppage time goal, to lose out by a margin of two points to Raharney, in the 2023 Westmeath Slevins Coaches SHAC final, played at Mullingar's TEG Cusack Park last Sunday afternoon, October 8th.

 

Lough Lene Gaels 1.07 Raharney 0.11 - was the half time match scoreline.

Lough Lene Gaels Hurling Club extends its sincere congratulations to its player Eoin Daly, on winning the "Player of the Match" award for last Sunday's Slevins Coaches SHAC final.

 

 

MJS Building & Development U17 Hurling Championship Division 1 Final

 

Na Piarsaigh.......2.11

Clonkill................2.15

 

Na Piarsaigh lost out to a very good Clonkill XV in the MJS Building & Development U17 Hurling Championship final, played at Mullingar's TEG Cusack Park on Sunday last, October 8th. The opening two scores of the match, both points, went to Na Piarsaigh. There after though, Clonkill were on top for much of the first half general play, Clonkill 0.10 Na Piarsaigh 1.05, was the half time match scoreline.

 

Clonkill scored a smart 1.01 at the beginning of the second half, to move 1.11 to 1.05 ahead of Na Piarsaigh, and were worthy of that lead. 

 

Na Piarsaigh rallied, scoring a second goal to draw level at 2.09 to 1.12. 

 

Clonkill quickly responded by scoring a second goal themselves. Try as they did in the match action that followed, Na Piarsaigh could not turn this fixture around in their favour, Clonkill winning by a margin of four points.

 

Lough Lene Gaels Hurling Club, and Turin Hurling Club, both extend sincere gratitude to the Na Piarsaigh U17 age category panel of players, and team management, for their positive approach throughout the 2023 playing season.

Sincere Condolences 

 

Lough Lene Gaels Hurling Club extends its sincere condolences to the wife of, family of, extended family members of, neighbours of, friends of, Pauric Kirby, Lake Road, Castletown Geoghegan, and also as well, Castletown Geoghegan HC, and St Malachy's GFC. Mr Kirby died on Wednesday October 4th. RIP.
