MJS Building & Development U17 Hurling Championship Division 1 Final

Na Piarsaigh lost out to a very good Clonkill XV in the MJS Building & Development U17 Hurling Championship final, played at Mullingar's TEG Cusack Park on Sunday last, October 8th. The opening two scores of the match, both points, went to Na Piarsaigh. There after though, Clonkill were on top for much of the first half general play, Clonkill 0.10 Na Piarsaigh 1.05, was the half time match scoreline.
Clonkill scored a smart 1.01 at the beginning of the second half, to move 1.11 to 1.05 ahead of Na Piarsaigh, and were worthy of that lead.
Na Piarsaigh rallied, scoring a second goal to draw level at 2.09 to 1.12.
Clonkill quickly responded by scoring a second goal themselves. Try as they did in the match action that followed, Na Piarsaigh could not turn this fixture around in their favour, Clonkill winning by a margin of four points.
Lough Lene Gaels Hurling Club, and Turin Hurling Club, both extend sincere gratitude to the Na Piarsaigh U17 age category panel of players, and team management, for their positive approach throughout the 2023 playing season.
