Kilbeggan Shamrocks GAA Notes

October 23, 2022

Kieran Daly

Our clubman Kieran Daly rightly made headline news last week after administering first aid on an U15 player and possibly saving his life.

Kieran, who is a paramedic, was refereeing the U15FC final between Inny Shamrocks and Lilliput Gaels in Kinnegad last Saturday week when the Inny Shamrocks player became unwell and collapsed. The Kilbeggan Shamrocks match official immediately stopped play and performed first aid. Ballinagore clubman and garda Enda Kenny was on linesman duty and assisted in the procedure.

“I went into paramedic mode and Enda went into garda mode,” Kieran said.

Thanks to their swift action, the young player was said to be making a good recovery in hospital last week. Well done lads!

End-of-season party

Our U8, U10 and U12 girls' teams wrapped up a great year with a trip to Jungle Joe's in Mullingar last Thursday night. Thanks to all the mentors for their hard work throughout the season.
