Kilbeggan Shamrocks GAA Notes

IFC v Maryland

All roads lead to Moate this Saturday, September 10 for our IFC relegation final against Maryland at 3pm.

Maryland beat us by a point earlier in the campaign, so here’s hoping we can turn the tables and preserve our intermediate status.

U19 v St Michael’s

Despite losing to St Michael's by 3-9 to 2-15 last Thursday evening, our U19s are through to the semi-finals of the championship by virtue of St Joseph's win over Delvin/St Paul's.

Padraig Carton came on in the second half and almost pulled it out of the fire by scoring 1-3. Joey O'Neill also had a fine game. But ultimately a sluggish first half cost us the win.

Team: Conor Mullins; Arthur O'Rourke, Senan Claffey, Brian McMahon; Jacob Browne, Brian Egan, Aaron O'Brien; Micheal Coffey, Ryan Dinnegan; Aaron Nannery, Cillian Rochford, Kieran Egan; Paddy Iskrea, Joey O'Neill, Jack Mullins. Subs: Padraig Carton and Joey Nannery.

Sponsorship

The club would like to thank Charlie Dolan of Irish Waterjet Profile, Moate Road for his generous sponsorship. Charlie presented our treasurer Martin Dowdall with a cheque at underage training last Thursday evening.

Scór car wash postponed

Next Saturday’s planned car wash at Centra in aid of Kilbeggan Scór has been postponed until a later date due to a clash with our IFC relegation playoff. A new date will be confirmed soon.

The club is currently looking for children aged between six and 16 to take part in Scór na nÓg. Disciplines include solo singing, instrumental music, storytelling, set dancing, novelty act and question time. Practice will take place in St James’ Hall leading up to competition later this year. Contact Fiona on 087 9458045 for more details.

Lotto

Last week’s lucky numbers were 6, 10, 17 and 28. Colum Connolly and Bree Collins were the draw winners.

Thanks to everyone for their support. This week’s jackpot is €12,450. You can purchase your tickets in local shops or online.
