Intermediate Team News
We played a useful challenge against Ballinagar from Offaly last Saturday evening in Tubber. This was another opportunity for manager Keigh Higgins to see his new charges in action before we begin competitions in a fortnights time. Our thanks to Ballinagar for the game and to Tubber for the use of their fine facilities. We have an exciting weekend ahead when we set off for Ventry next Friday afternoon to take part in the Paidi O'Se tournament in Ventry. Our coach will depart Pairc an Bhodhran at 13.30 for the long trip to our accomodation at the Dingle Skellig. From there we make our way to Ventry for tournament registration and an opening night BBQ. We play Kerry Intermediate side, Annascaul, on Saturday at 12 midday in Annascaul in our q/f game. If successful, we will travel to Lispole for a semi final later that afternoon. We meet again in Ventry with all the visiting teams and our hosts for a banquet dinner on Saturday night. The finals will be played on Sunday and we will make our return on Sunday after what will hopefully be a most momentous weekend for our club. There are a small number of seats left on the coach so please contact us asap if you want to come along.
Scor All Ireland
Last Saturday our table quiz team and county champions, Finian Heeney, Shane Seery, Fiachra Heeney and Robert Keegan took part in the All Ireland Final in The Citywest Hotel, Dublin. On the day, the lads were not successful in their quest for national glory but they acquitted themselves very well on the day and enjoyed the occasion. Well done lads, we're very proud of your achievements over the last few years. We want to extend our congratulations to The Downs and Moate All Whites who won the Leiriu and Ballad Group competitions respectively later that day.
