Armagh got the better of Donegal by the narrowest of margins today to set up a Dr McKenna Cup final clash with holders Tyrone next weekend.
Rory Grugan sent over what proved to be the decisive score in the Orchard County’s slender 0-14 to 1-10 penultimate stage win in Healy Park.
Despite conceding a first-half goal to Jason McGee, Kieran McGeeney’s charges took an 0-8 to 1-5 lead into the break.
The pendulum swung back and forth throughout the second-half but Grugan – who finished with three points to his name – had the final say.
Niall Grimley top scored for the winners with 0-4 (three threes) while Stefan Campbell impressed with a return of three points from play.
McGee and Jamie Brennan shared the scoring honours for Declan Bonner’s side with 1-1 and 0-4 respectively.
Armagh now turn their attention to next Saturday’s evening decider with the Red Hand County.
