Meath's Eamon O Donnchadha

Meath crushed Tyrone with a 2-17 to 0-8 victory in Omagh this afternoon to make it four wins from four in Division 2B of the Allianz Hurling League.

The Royals’ electric start saw them go to build up a 10-point lead by the half Healy Park and the game was over as a contest once Eamon O’Donnchadha rattled the Red Hands’ net 10 minutes into the restart.

Patrick Barnwell would lash in the visitors’ second major with three minutes remaining to help round off the 15-point win.

The result sees Meath now four points clear at top of the table and with a league final berth to look forward to with a round still remaining.

In Ruislip, London hit Sligo for five goals to record their first win of the Division 2B campaign.

It finished 5-16 to 2-20 at McGovern Park, where Ronan Crowley (penalty), Daithi Barron and Jack Goulding supplied the first-half goals for the home side.

Conor Hanniffy grabbed a goal for Sligo late in the half but they’d be forced to play the entire second period with 14 men after Eoin Comerford’s dismissal.

Eoghan McHugh hammered in the Exiles’ fourth goal three minutes into the restart and, while the Yeats men battled back, it was McHugh that wrapped up the victory with his second major late on that condemned Sligo to their fourth straight defeat.
