Peter Canavan is calling on Tyrone supporters to turn out in large numbers for the visit of All-Ireland champions Kerry to Omagh next Sunday.

With just one win from four, the Red Hands are in relegation trouble in Division 1 of the Allianz Football League, but Canavan is hoping the fans can be the 16th man against Jack O'Connor's side.

"Tyrone have to perform to a level they haven't performed at yet if they're going to get over Kerry," the Tyrone legend told Game On on RTÉ 2fm.

"We're sitting at the bottom of the table. We have to win at least two of our remaining three games. And we have Monaghan and Armagh after that.

"The Tyrone support has been very poor. In Galway, it was poor and in Castlebar on Saturday night.

"I'm hoping in Tyrone, the supporters come out in their numbers and give the team a bit of backing because it will take a massive performance if they're going to get one over Kerry."
