Tipperary have left All-Ireland champions Clare on the cusp of elimination from the championship thanks to a 4-18 to 2-21 victory at Cusack Park this evening.

The result in Ennis marks Tipp’s first win in the Munster senior hurling championship since 2023 and they’d be made to earn it after the hosts staged a late comeback on their home turf.

Liam Cahill’s side had made a remarkable start that saw them bagging four goals in the first 22 minutes, with John McGrath and Andrew Ormond netting a brace during the early salvo by the Premier men.

A Mark Rodgers goal kept Clare alive at half-time (4-9 to 1-9) and they’d come with a push in the second period that eventually saw a Tony Kelly penalty bringing the back to with a point.

A Rodgers free levelled it for Brian Lohan’s side ahead of a couple of Jason Forde frees and a Sean Kenneally point sealing the win for Tipp which now leaves Clare’s staring elimination in the face.
