Sean Rafferty insists Meath won’t be distracted by the shock departures of coaches Joe McMahon and Martin Corey last weekend.
The pair left the roles just a week out from the Royal County’s Leinster SFC opener against Carlow whose preparations have also been rocked by Shane Curran’s decision to step down after just seven games as manager. The Barrowsiders last night appointed Joe Murphy as Curran's replacement.
"From a players’ perspective, all we are aware of is that the boys have decided to step away from the set-up," the young Na Fianna defender said at yesterday’s Leinster SFC launch in Newbridge.
"And from a players’ point of view, all the focus is on Carlow on Sunday. That’s all that really matters to us.
"Whatever else has to be left to the powers-that-be and we stay focused on Carlow and putting in a performance in front of our home fans and getting a win."
Páirc Tailteann will host the Leinster SFC first round clash on Sunday afternoon.
