Louth landed the Allianz Hurling League Division 4 crown this afternoon by seeing off Fermanagh on a 0-16 to 1-8 scoreline at St Mellan’s Park, Truagh.
Trevor Hilliard’s side were 0-2 to 0-1 in front when they conceded a Sean Corrigan goal in the ninth minute, but from there they’d outscore their Ulster counterparts by 0-8 to 0-3 to lead by three points at half-time.
Marksman Darren Geoghegan, who finished with 0-9, continued to lead the way for the Wee County in the second-half, sending over an early free before Sean Flynn sailed their 12th point of the afternoon.
John Duffy registered a brace of points at the other end to keep the Ernesiders in contentions ahead of points via Paddy Lynch, Geoghegan (2) and David Stephenson cementing the win for Louth which sees them heading into next month’s Nickey Rackard Cup campaign unbeaten.
