Éire Óg Carrickmore are Tyrone senior hurling champions for the fifth year running after securing a dramatic late win over Eoghan Ruadh in Omagh this afternoon.

It finished 3-16 to 3-13 at O’Neill’s Healy Park, where Sean Óg Grogan proved the hero for the Carrickmore side after netting goals in the 60th and 63rd minutes to snatch the win.

The holders had recovered from a shaky start to lead by 1-9 to 1-8 at half-time, but two goals from Piaras McErlean after the turnaround looked like sealing the Benburb Cup for the Dungannon men.

Aidy Kelly’s frees kept Éire Óg within touching distance however, and Grogan would net a close-range goal on the hour mark before firing in the winner three minutes later to break Eoghan Ruadh hearts.
