Glen put their Derry SFC opening round defeat to Slaughtneil behind them with a hard-earned 0-10 to 0-8 victory over Bellaghy on Sunday.

The reigning All-Ireland club champions, who introduced Conor Glass off the bench after an injury, prevailed thanks to scores from Eunan Mulholland, Emmett Bradley and Paul Cassidy as they got their four-in-a-row bid back on track.

Elsewhere in Group A, Slaughtneil maintained their impressive form with a 1-22 to 1-8 hammering of Swatragh. Eamon Cassidy’s first half goal, coupled with 0-7 from Shane McGuigan, propelled the former kingpins to a second victory. In the other Group A tie, goals from James Kielt and Niall McGonigle helped Dungivne to see off Kilrea by 2-12 to 1-10.

In Group B, Magherafelt, Newbridge and Steelstown registered wins over Lavey, Loup and Ballinascreen respectively.
