Tadhg Morley has hailed the addition of Kieran Donaghy to the Kerry football management set-up as a ‘great coup’.
The return of the former Footballer of the Year to the Kingdom fold after helping Armagh to Sam Maguire Cup glory is already being felt according to the defender, who told Clubber TV after last Saturday’s senior football challenge against Tipperary in aid of the Dillon Quirke Foundation: “With new players you bring freshness, but bringing Donaghy as well, bringing ‘Star’ with us brings a great freshness.
"He’s very good there, he’s very good one-to-one with fellas, just talking to fellas one-to-one, and he’s obviously very good with the forward unit.
“He’s very good for staying out after training, staying with fellas, kicking and working on bits for the forwards. And he’s very vocal on the sidelines, as we know from before, so he’s a great addition.
“It was a great coup by Jack (O’Connor) to get him in for this year, and hopefully he’ll be along the sideline for a few more years after that as well.”
