Electric Ireland, proud sponsor of the Electric Ireland GAA Minor Championships, announces the 2025 Electric Ireland GAA Minor Star Football Team of the Year and the Electric Ireland Minor Star Football Player of the Year yesterday.
All-Ireland champions Tyrone lead the way with seven selections on the team, while runners-up Kerry six spots on the team and Mayo and Roscommon have one a piece.
The competition’s joint top scorers this past season were Red Hands sharpshooter Eoin Long (1-30) and Kingdom ace Ben Kelliher (2-27) and both players have been named in the selection at full-forward and left corner-forward, respectively.
Tyrone edged a thrilling final against Kerry by 1-16 to 1-15 in Newbridge to claim their county’s 10th Tom Markham Cup success, with defender Aodhan Quinn named ‘Player of the Match’ afterwards and it’s no surprise to see the Errigal Ciaran clubman named at left half-back on the Team of the Year’.
As for the ‘Minor Star Football Player of the Year’, that honour goes to Peter Colton of the Fintona Pearses club after leading the way from centre half-forward throughout Tyrone’s successful campaign during which he netted a crucial penalty to help his county over the line against the Munster champions on July 6th at Cedral St Conleth's Park
