Jim McGuinness declared himself satisfied with Donegal’s response to last week’s defeat to Tyrone against Cavan.
The back-to-back Ulster champions were back to their best as they ran out emphatic 3-26 to 1-13 winners over a Cavan side that had shocked Mayo in the opening round of the All-Ireland SFC series.
"We were obviously very disappointed with our performance last weekend and we were coming into the lion's den today with a great atmosphere. There was a moment there where you have to respond and that's what championship football's all about,” the Donegal manager told RTÉ.
"There were so many things wrong last weekend and we got back to what we’re normally good at today. Everybody was on it, everybody was tuned into the right things and the focus was in the right place so the performances came from that.
"It’s great to get two points, all the other teams are on two points so we’ll see what will happen in the next round. Mayo will be a massive challenge and we have to get ready for that battle.”
