Tyrone U20 manager Paul Devlin hailed his group of players after last night’s All-Ireland final victory over Louth at the Box-It Athletic Grounds.
The Red Hands recorded a 5-16 to 0-17 win against their Leinster counterparts to claim their county’s third Clarke Cup success in four years.
Speaking to BelfastLive.co.uk afterwards, Devlin said he was confident of the win after seeing the level of intensity in which the players trained with in Garvaghey two nights before the decider.
“The game was over last Monday night in training - we weren’t losing that game,” he stated.
“The performance those boys put in, we weren't losing that game. We just weren't. I trust them and, the most important thing, is they trust me. I just thought the lads were just an immense this year.
"The training we had this week up in Garvaghey was frightening - the way the lads were moving. All credit goes to them. Everything goes to them, every one of the 34 players.”
On the performance of ace attacker Noah Grimes, who hit 2-6, including the Red Hands first two goals, Devlin added:
“If you focus on one guy, you open that door for someone else to do damage and Noah knew this game was coming. He had a superb game in the semi-final (against Kerry) and in the Ulster final as well. This has come to the boil all along for Noah and he is a fantastic lad to work with. We’re just delighted for Noah to put in that kind of performance in an All-Ireland final.”
