Tyrone joint-managers Brian Dooher and Feargal Logan have stepped down from their roles.

Their departure comes after speculation about their future had intensified in recent days. The pair guided Tyrone to a surprise All-Ireland SFC success in their first season in charge in 2021, but the Red Hands have failed to reach the same heights since then and exited the Sam Maguire Cup race in disappointing fashion at the hands of Roscommon this summer.

Dooher and Logan - who missed a large part of the season following a health scare - were ratified for another three years this time last year, but have now decided not to remain at the helm with Malachy O’Rourke, Enda McGinley and All-Ireland U20 winning boss Paul Devlin among those mentioned as possible replacements.

Tyrone GAA chairman Martin Sludden said in a statement: “They’ve simply made wonderful history for us, time and again, in place after place, and in so many ways. Always with style, class, dignity and honour.

“And, very remarkably in the world we’re now in, always as total volunteers to the Tyrone GAA cause.”
