Dunloy Cuchullains were crowned Antrim senior hurling champions for the 17th time after producing a strong display to defeat Cushendall by 1-19 to 1-13 in Ballycastle this afternoon.

A first-half goal from Ciaran Elliott proved keyas the Cuchullains took control of the contest, establishing a five-point advantage at the interval (1-11 to 0-9).

Cushendall battled to get back into the game and raised hopes of a late comeback when Neil McManus fired home a close-range free in the 56th minute.

However, Dunloy responded well, with Nicky McKeague and substitute Tom McFerran adding crucial scores to keep the defending champions at bay.

The victory ends Dunloy's wait for Antrim honours since 2022, avenging their defeat to Cushendall in the 2024 decider and marks their fifth county SHC title in eight seasons.

Shane Elliott's side will now turn their attention to the Ulster club SHC where they'LL face Down champions Portaferry in the semi-finals two weeks from today.
