Three-time All-Ireland winner Walter Walsh says David Herity would bring “massive experience” to new Kilkenny manager Henry Shefflin’s backroom team.
Reports have been circulating since Shefflin’s appointment on Monday that former Cats goalkeeper Herity will be part of his backroom team after having spent the past two seasons with Tipperary who captured the Liam MacCarthy Cup last year.
Speaking to KCLR Sport this week, Walsh’s appointment as a coach under Shefflin would be a massive addition to the new set-up.
“David Herity will be absolutely brilliant,” said the ex-Kilkenny forward who retired from inter-county duty in 2024.
“He’s proven it with Tipperary and I know some of the Tipperary lads, and I’ve heard reports back from that All-Ireland win last year that David Herity, I think, had a lot to do with that.
“So he’s going to bring massive experience as well. He’s been managing for years now and involved with teams.
“So I think David Herity, I hope he is involved. It hasn’t been announced yet, but we are speculating, and I think he will be brilliant.”
