Meath inflicted Derry with their first loss of the 2025 Christy Ring Cup campaign thanks to a 3-18 to 1-22 victory at Celtic Park this afternoon.
Mikey Cole’s early brace of goals set to the tone for the Royals and would prove the difference between the sides at half-time (2-9 to 0-9).
Damien Healy netted the visitors’ third major six minutes into the restart and while Derry turned up the heat on their opponents, it’d be Johnny Greville’s men that held on for their second win of the competition.
In Carrickmore, Donegal were dominant in a 5-18 to 0-10 win over hosts Tyrone.
Josh Connolly McGee, Declan Coulter, Gerard Gilmore and Luke White (penalty) all netted goals in the Tir Chonaill men’s comfortable victory which sees them now up and running at the third attempt in the Christy Ring Cup race.
Meanwhile, Wicklow and London played out a 2-17 to 2-17 draw in Aughrim which moves the Leinster side top of the table on five points after Round 3.
The Garden men trailed by 2-10 to 1-8 at the halfway stage, but a Luke Evans goal early in the second-half ignited them and they looked like claiming both points until Donnacha Leahy’s injury-time points snatched a draw for the Exiles.
