Limerick staged a dramatic comeback to claim a 1-13 to 0-16 draw with Waterford in last night’s Munster U20 hurling championship third round clash in Dungarvan.

The visitors trailed by seven points before getting 1-5 from the bench to earn a draw which sees them remain unbeaten in the southern province.

Waterford made a strong start that saw points from Mark Hartley, Jack Twomey and Ben O’Sullivan helping them go 0-6 to 0-1 in front after 10 minutes and, from there, they’d go on to hold a 0-12 to 0-7 lead at the half.

Hartley and Twomey increased the Deise advantage early in the restart before Limerick got motoring and it was substitute Mark O’Brien that fired in their goal in the 43rd minute.

O’Brien would add three points for the Shannonsiders as well and Sean Duff grabbed the equaliser for Limerick who nearly snatched the win in injury-time.
