Anthony Daly has installed Cork as Liam MacCarthy Cup favourites after ending their 27-year wait for Allianz Hurling League honours.
The Rebels put Tipperary to the sword with a devastating 3-8 second quarter blast to be crowned Division 1 champions at a packed SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh last Sunday. The victory bodes well for their upcoming Munster SHC campaign which begins with a repeat of last year’s epic All-Ireland SHC final against Clare in Ennis on the weekend after next.
"I presume Brian Lohan is sitting at home today thinking, 'how are we going to stop this juggernaut?'" the 1995 and ’97 All-Ireland winning captain said on The Sunday Game.
"Six goals, four goals, then three goals today, and (they) eased up nearly in the second half. They're (Cork) the favourites now.
"It's hard to believe - even with Clare winning last year - because we would have said Limerick, with a year off (would have been favourites).
"But now Cork are the favourites."
