Former Galway defender Aidan Harte will be part of Michéal Donoghue's new senior hurling management team.

The Gort clubman, who won an All-Ireland SHC medal during Donoghue's first tenure in 2017, will join Noel Larkin, Francis Forde and former Tipperary manager Eamon O'Shea in the new-look management. Harte retired from inter-county duty in 2021 and has been involved as a coach with the Clare U20s and Crusheen since then.

“He’s a top guy. Over the last few years, he’s forged his own career in coaching. He’s been with Clare U20s, he’s been with Crusheen, he’s made a huge mark with them," Donoghue told  Galway Bay FM’s Hurling Chat programme.

“As soon as I met him and had a chat, we had him at ‘hello’! He’s so dialled in and we’re delighted to have him on board. He’s going to be class.”
