Cian Lynch's brilliant individual goal couldn't prevent Kilmallock from reaching the Limerick SHC semi-finals with a 2-22 to 2-20 victory over Patrickswell in Cappamore last night.

The former Hurler of the Year soloed through before finding the top of the corner of the net in the 19th minute, but it was a 55th minute goal from his Limerick team-mate Graeme Mulcahy that won it for The Balbec.

Patrickswell still had a chance to level from a late penalty when Aaron Gillane was fouled, but Diarmaid Byrnes fired over as Kilmallock held on for a two-point win to maintain their 100% record.

In last night's other Limerick SHC tie, Na Piarsaigh had to work hard for a 1-21 to 1-13 victory over Ahane. Ronan Fox (Ahane) and JJ Carey (Na Piarsaigh) raised green flags either side of half-time, but with free-taker Ronan Lynch helping himself to 0-10, the city side pulled away in the end.

Na Piarsaigh and Kilmallock will meet in the last round of the group stage.
