Three-in-a-row Laois hurling champions Clough-Ballacolla have appointed Garry Mernagh as their new manager.

The Thurles Sarsfields clubman takes over from another Tipperary native, Loughmore-Castleiney’s Declan Laffan, who led Clough-Ballacolla to a hattrick of Bob O’Keeffe Cups as well as a Leinster club final appearance against Ballyhale Shamrocks in 2021.

Laffan parted ways with the O’Moore County hurling kingpins before Christmas to take up a new role with the Tipperary county side.
