A mindless act of vandalism

An Offaly GAA club has expressed its disgust after a defibrillator at its grounds was vandalised last weekend.

The lifesaving equipment, which was installed at the Clara GAA grounds last summer, was destroyed in a mindless act of vandalism.

The club said in a social media post: “We are very disappointed to have to report that lifesaving equipment which was available to the community at our pitch was vandalised over the weekend.

“The defibrillator which was installed in an outdoor cabinet during the summer was removed from this cabinet and damaged beyond repair.  All we can hope is that none of our members or users of our facilities will need this lifesaving equipment in the near future.”
