New Tipperary hurling captain Noel McGrath says the Premier men are looking forward after a disappointing 2022 campaign.

Tipp lost all their games in the Munster championship this past summer, leading to manager Colm Bonnar’s departure and the appointment of Liam Cahill as the county’s new supremo.

Last week saw Cahill naming his 40-man pre-Allianz League panel for ahead of the forthcoming season and, speaking to TippFM Sport, McGrath says a lot of players will be looking to make a quick impression under the new management.

“As players, as a county and as a whole management and backroom team we were all disappointed with the way the results went,” he stated.

“But look, I suppose now we’re looking forward and last year is gone and its history and, unfortunately, we can’t change it. So, the only way to work around it is to knuckle down and get going again.

“There’s a good few new members on the panel this year – there’s going to be a lot of lads looking for places, a lot of lads pushing to make an impression and that’s the way it has to be.”
