Darren Gleeson has been reinstalled as Antrim senior hurling manager on a two-year term.

After having taken charge of the Saffrons in 2020, Gleeson led the team to Allianz League Division 2A and Joe McDonagh Cup success during his first season in charge.

This past March saw the Glensmen retaining their topflight status in the league after defeating Offaly in a relegation playoff and they’d go on to capture the Joe McDonagh Cup again this summer.

Antrim GAA confirmed this morning (Thursday) that Gleeson would return to the helm on a two-year term, with an option for a third year.

“Antrim County Board are delighted to announce that Darren Gleeson has been confirmed as our Senior Hurling Manager on a two year term with an option for a third year,” the statement read.

“Darren and his team have made fantastic strides in his current term, and we look forward to playing in Division 1 of the Hurling league and in the Leinster Championship in 2023.

“Guímid gach rath ar Darren agus an fhoireann sa chúlra!”
