Callanan "flying it" since return to club duty

Tipperary ace Seamus Callanan has been demonstrating impressive form since returning to club duty from the hand injury he suffered back in March.

After recovering from a broken bone in his hand, Callanan had been expected to feature in Tipp’s provincial championship campaign in late spring/early summer but an infection in his wrist meant he missed the entire Munster SHC round robin series.

Since returning for Drom & Inch in early May, Callanan has been getting back to his form of old according to club chairman Frank McGrath, with the 2019 All-Ireland winning captain having hit 1-4 in an 11-point victory over Templederry Kenyons in the Tipperary SHC opening round last week.

“He’s flying it,” McGrath told The42.ie. “He was really good, and typical Seamie, he was buzzing around the place and he took some great scores. He was bringing other fellas into the play as well, and it’s really great to have him back because he’s a huge player for us, and always has been
