There was no separating Ahane and Adare in yesterday evening’s Limerick senior hurling championship opener as it finished 1-15 apiece in Claughaun.
Adare’s David O’Mahony grabbed the game’s equaliser in the third minute of injury-time as the sides shared the points.
O’Mahony had been among the scorers in the first-half as Adare went in leading by 0-11 to 0-7 at half-time, with the trailers having tallied a dozen wides up to that point.
Limerick star Tom Morrissey struck the game’s first goal for Ahane four minutes into the restart but Willie Griffin goaled just six minutes later to put Adare back in the driving seat.
Morrissey, who finished with 1-9 (1-4 from play), led his side’s charge in the closing quarter and it looked to be enough before O’Mahony’s late intervention.
