Cork forward Shane Kingston admits his side will be up against a "different animal" on Saturday week when they take on reigning Munster and All-Ireland champions Limerick in the provincial semi-final at Semple Stadium.

The sides met in a dress rehearsal for the championship clash three weeks ago, with Limerick coming out on top 0-33 to 2-19 in the Allianz League at the Gaelic Grounds.

"Championship and league are very different. We know ourselves that Limerick are going to be a different animal," Kingston said when speaking to RTÉ Sport.

"We just have to worry about ourselves and train as hard as we can, to put ourselves in the best position going into the Limerick game."

The Rebels will have experienced duo Colm Spillane and Bill Cooper back available following injury for the Thurles showdown, which will act as a trial event, with 2,400 supporters allowed through the turnstiles.

"We were happy enough with how the league went," the Douglas clubman continued.

"We didn't perform too well against Limerick or Galway, so it was obviously disappointing as a collective and personally.

"Sixty two minutes into the Galway game we looked like we were going to top the group and 10 minutes later we came fourth so we were obviously disappointed with that."
