PDC World Championships debutant and former Duleek-Bellewstown player Keane Barry.

A Meath GAA club has congratulated its former player Keane Barry on winning the World Junior Darts Championship in London.

The 17-year-old sensation, who played underage football for Duleek-Bellewstown, beat Adam Gawlas from the Czech Republic 5-3 at the Alexandra Palace yesterday to become Ireland's latest world champion.

The victory caps an incredible week for Barry who became the youngest-ever Irish player to compete at the PDC World Championship on Monday when he lost to the experienced Dutchman Vincent van der Voort.

Earlier in the year, the Duleek teenager won the Tom Kirby Irish Matchplay, the Junior International Open, the BDO’s Youth World Masters and the Junior Darts Corporation International Open.
