Tipperary cruised to a 3-8 to 0-6 victory over Limerick this afternoon in the opening round of Phase 1 in the Munster U20 football championship.
The Premier lads held a 0-4 to 0-3 lead in Ballyagran when Daithi Hogan buried in their first goal in the 21st minute and they’d go on to hold a 1-5 to 0-3 lead come half-time.
Ben Carey added to Tipp’s lead early in the restart and a Paddy O’Keeffe goal midway through the second-half would be backed up by another major from Hogan late on to ensure the visitors’ got off to a flying start in this year’s competition.

Neat interplay unlocks the Limerick defence and Daithí Hogan is there to put it in the net 💥https://t.co/QU7uPhpieW 📺 pic.twitter.com/H1BL6DM5s9
In the other opening round fixture, Waterford came from four points down against Clare to record a 4-12 to 2-15 victory in Doonbeg.
The home side looked to be on the path to victory after goals from Colin Riordan and Darragh Killeen helped them towards a 2-7 to 0-9 lead 10 minutes into the second-half.
However, the Deise lads demonstrated their resilience with goals from Conor Keating (2), Paddy McCarthy and Fergal O’Brien to see them over the line towards an opening win.

Paddy O'Keeffe nails one off the underside of the crossbar. There isn't a keeper in the country saving that 😮💨🎯https://t.co/QU7uPhpieW 📺 pic.twitter.com/SxPCqeYBlK
