Kildare GAA have wished former player Paul Mescal the very best of luck ahead of tonight’s 95th Academy Awards in Los Angeles.
The Maynooth man is nominated for Best Actor for his role in Aftersun in what is a record year for Irish talent at the Oscars, with Colin Farrell also nominated in the same category for his role in The Banshees of Inisherin.
Mescal represented Kildare at underage level, captaining the Lilywhites in the 2014 Leinster minor football final when he marked now Dublin star Con O’Callaghan.
He would go on to represent his county at U21 level before switching his focus towards becoming a professional actor.
The now 26-year-old is set to walk the Hollywood red carpet tonight at the Dolby Theatre, with the ceremony to commence in LA at 5pm (12am Irish time).
TweetOn behalf of everyone in Kildare GAA we would like to wish the very best of luck to @mescal_paul @maynoothgaa at the Oscars tonight.
