"I don't know who covered more ground Rory or the seagulls"
Monaghan's Rory Beggan gathers possession against Tyrone in the Ulster SFC final
Tyrone captured a 16th Ulster senior football championship crown after edging Monaghan at Croke Park this evening.
In what was the first Ulster final played at headquarters since 2006, both teams served up a cracking encounter which had close to everything in it as the Red Hands secured their first title since 2017 on a 0-16 to 0-15 scoreline.
A feature of the game, particularly in the second-half, was the roaming of Monaghan ‘keeper Rory Beggan out the field and towards the end the Farney net-minder would even race back and put in a successful tackle on Mattie Donnelly as the Tyrone forward was bearing down on goal.
Needless to say, it was a moment that set Twitter alight.

Rory beggan fly nets, free taker, mid fielder, slick defender, plumber, joiner bricky, anything that man can’t do

I can safely say I am glad to see the back of Rory Beggan. He was fantastic today for his county. I don't know who covered more ground Rory or the seagulls. #UlsterChampionship

The Rory Beggan turnover of Mattie Donnelly might be play of the year by the way. Not just the wheels to get their and the technique to make the tackle but also the audacity to try the flick up in that exact moment

If Rory Beggan plays corner back next year, he’ll need no sweeper. What a tackle and what a game that was. Well refereed and plenty of action #GAA 👌

It’s fun to watch Rory Beggan knowing it’s not your team.
