Limerick star Gearoid Hegarty sees the Shannonsiders’ Munster SHC semi-final date with Cork as “a different ball game” to the one they played against the Rebels 10 days ago.

John Kiely’s side scored a 0-33 to 2-19 win over the Leesiders at the LIT Gaelic Grounds, where they registered 0-20 in the first-half, and the victory against Westmeath this past weekend left them with two wins, two losses and a draw for their league campaign.

Speaking to RTE Sport, last year’s Hurler of the Year Hegarty says sights are now firmly set on their championship opener at Semple Stadium on July 3.

"It will be a different ball game," said the 27-year-old. "They (Cork) had a couple of lads who weren't playing that day who probably will be in a few weeks' time.

"We're not believing that because we won the last day that we'll win again or even that it will be the same type of game.

"We've had some great games against them in the last number of years. I haven't watched much of the league this year but anything I've seen of them they've been excellent and dangerous on the attack.

“I'm sure Saturday two weeks' time will be very interesting."
