Watch: Cunningham's audacious 'outside of the left' point in Antrim's win

May 16, 2021

Antrim's Paddy Cunningham strikes a curling effort against Louth.

This audacious 'outside of the left' point from Paddy Cunningham helped Antrim to an opening round win over Mickey Harte's Louth in the Allianz Football League at Haggardstown yesterday.

The 36-year-old came off the bench for the last ten minutes and inspired the Saffrons to a narrow 1-15 to 3-8 victory with a stunning effort before his fellow Lamh Dhearg clubman Ryan Murray kicked the winner as they got their Division 4 campaign off to a perfect start under new manager Enda McGinley.

Battling the debilitating Crohn's Disease since 2011, Cunningham continues to defy the odds stacked against him in lining out with Antrim having made an unlikely return to inter-county football after a six-year absence.
