Aishling Sheridan was pictured in tears on the phone, presumably to her family, after helping Collingwood to an historic AFLW qualifying final win over North Melbourne.
The Magpies made it through to the semi-finals for the first time thanks to a 50-44 win at Victoria Park earlier today.
Having trailed by 14 points heading into the final quarter, the winners produced a stirring comeback to clinch victory with goals by Kristy Stratton, Chloe Molloy and Tarni Brown.
Cavan star Sheridan (13 disposals and eight kicks) and Sarah Rowe (12 disposals and nine kicks) from Mayo were prominent figures for Collingwood who now face Orla O’Dwyer's Brisbane Lions.
I swear these are happy tears 🖤🤍 https://t.co/XV1bkK3QTd

In the other qualifying final, Melbourne Demons defeated Fremantle Dockers 40-23 to set up a meeting with Ailish Considine's Adelaide Crows in next week’s preliminaries.
With her Dublin teammate Sinéad Goldrick ruled due to injury, Lauren Magee played a crucial role in the Dees' 17-point win at Casey Fields, chipping in five disposals and three kicks.
