"Player welfare issues" see Tipperary dual club pull out of camogie final

Tipperary dual club Cahir have opted not to field a team for Saturday’s county junior A camogie championship final citing “player welfare issues”.
The club were down to play two county finals this coming weekend, with their camogs taking on Knockavilla on Saturday at 12pm and the footballers playing Aherlow in the senior championship final the following day at 2pm.
Speaking on Off The Ball yesterday, Tipperary and Cahir star Aishling Moloney was critical of the fact that a significant amount of Cahir’s dual players will have to line-out in two finals in just over 24 hours and pointed the blame at the Tipperary camogie board.
Moloney has since shared a letter on social media confirming that Cahir will not be fielding in tomorrow afternoon’s camogie final against Knockavilla.
“It is with deep regret and with a heavy heart that as officers and management of Cahir camogie club, we have made the decision not to ‘field’ a team for the upcoming junior A county final this Saturday due to player welfare issues as outlined in previous correspondance,” it reads.
“This is an unanimous decision, made in conjunction with our entire panel.
“We feel it is our responsibility to protect our players and therefore we cannot agree for them to participate in the game.”
