Former Kilkenny star Eddie Brennan credited his Moycarkey Borris players after their second-half turnaround against holders Kiladangan in the Tipperary senior hurling championship yesterday.

Brennan’s charges came from eight points down in Thurles to win out by 2-21 to 3-16 in the end, with Max Hackett snatching a dramatic late goal in injury-time.

Speaking to TippFM Sport afterwards, the eight-time All-Ireland winner hailed his players for digging deep to earn their place in the competition’s semi-finals.

"I'm fairly speechless to be honest. I don't think I've ever went as mad celebrating Tipperary hurling in my life.

"What can you say?"

He added: "We looked to be in trouble. In fairness to them, they keep responding, they've had setbacks but the one thing we try to drill into them is to keep believing and keep believing and stick at it.

"Look at that second-half, the evidence is there, they stuck at it. We got a bit of a break around the goal, but the squad, the players themselves (they were superb.)"
