Cian Darcy struck for a brace of goals as Kilruane MacDonaghs saw off Kiladangan by 2-20 to 1-16 to capture their first Tipperary senior hurling championship title in 37 years.
After the sides couldn’t be separated last weekend, it was Kiladangan that came out firing for this replay and carried in a five-point lead with them at half-time after Tom O’Meara had found the net 17 minutes in.
Kilruane MacDonaghs raced out of the traps for the second-half and stormed in front by the 41st minute.
The scoreboard would read 0-15 to 1-11 in their favour when Darcy hammered in their first goal on 47 minutes and, from there, they wouldn’t look back.
The victors stretched the lead to five a Darcy’s second major came in the first minute of injury-time to rubberstamp the victory.
