Wicklow scored the last six points against Leitrim in Aughrim this afternoon to earn themselves a 0-15 to 1-9 victory and leave themselves right in the hunt for promotion with two rounds remaining in Division 4.

After having led by 0-6 to 0-5 at the halfway stage, Leitrim looked to have landed a decisive blow when Keith Beirne lashed in their goal in the 42nd minute.

However, Oisin McConville’s men eventually got level with five minutes to go and the points of Eoin Darcy (2) and Dean Healy got them over the line towards their third victory of the campaign.

Sligo joined Laois at the top of the table on eight points after seeing off Wexford by 1-20 to 3-8 at Markievicz Park.

John Tubritt netted an early goal for the visitors but Seán Carrabine helped the Connacht men towards a 0-9 to 1-2 lead and Pat Spillane would come off the bench register their only goal in the six-point win.

In Ruislip, Carlow consigned London to their fourth loss of the campaign with a 0-13 to 0-9 win.

The Barrowsiders were 0-7 to 0-4 in front at the halfway stage and did enough in the second-half to ensure they avoided a third consecutive defeat of the campaign.

Last night (Saturday) saw Laois comfortable in a 2-13 to 1-5 victory over Waterford in Portlaoise to return to the top of the Division 4 table.
