Easkey proved too strong for Naomh Eoin as they clinched a third successive Sligo senior hurling championship title with a 3-18 to 1-10 victory at Markievicz Park on Sunday.
Andrew Kilcullen and Thomas Cawley combined for 3-12 of the winners’ tally over the hour as Naomh Eoin couldn’t live with their opponents’ danger men inside.
Kilcullen and Cawley rattled in the goals that helped Easkey towards an unassailable 2-10 to 0-4 lead at half-time.
County man Tony O'Kelly-Lynch led the way for Naomh Eoin with 0-8 but it proved in vain, as Kilcullen grabbed his second goal after the turnaround to bring his own personally tally to 2-7 prior to Edwin Mullane hitting the net at the other end in injury-time.
