Michael Glaveys came from seven points down to defeat Oran by 2-9 to 1-11 this afternoon and move into the last four of the Roscommon senior football championship.
Robert Heneghan’s penalty in the sixth minute of injury-time was what proved the difference between the sides in the end, as Glaveys pulled off their comeback at the death.
Oran had dominated large portions of the opening half in Castlerea to lead by 0-10 to 0-4 at the break and pushed their lead out to seven ahead of their opponents hitting an unanswered 2-2, including the Heneghan penalty (watch it below), to snatch the win.
This evening sees 21-time winners Clann nan Gael playing St Faithleachs (6pm) before Roscommon Gaels meet Boyle at 12.30pm tomorrow and holders St Brigid’s battle it out with Padraig Pearses at Dr Hyde Park (2.15pm).
