Four teams remain in the hunt for a place in the knock-out stages of the Connacht U20 football championship following two fourth round draws in the competition last night.
Galway, who are the only team assured of a semi-final place, played out a 0-6 to 0-6 draw against Roscommon at Dr Hyde Park where Shane McGinley’s late free earned a share of the points for the Rossies.
In Markievicz Park, holders Sligo finished all square with Leitrim on a 2-11 to 1-14 scoreline.
The Yeats County came into this one looking for their first win in this year’s competition but, in the end, were able to salvage their second draw thanks to Luke Marren’s penalty in the last seconds of stoppage time.
Conor Flynn’s 18th minute goal had saw Sligo towards a one-point lead at half-time (1-5 to 0-7), but Andy Moran’s lads would hit the front early in the second-half with Barry McNulty to the fore for them and Darren Cox goal looked like being enough until Marren’s late intervention.
