Offaly GAA to ratify Ó Sé

September 14, 2021

Former Kerry defender Tomas O Se

Tomás Ó Sé will be ratified as an Offaly senior football coach / selector at a county board meeting tonight.

A five-time All-Ireland winning defender and former Footballer of the Year, Ó Sé is currently in charge of Cork club side Glanmire, having previously managed the UCC Sigerson Cup team. The Kerry legend also guided Glanmire to a Cork minor championship last year and is a member of one of the GAA’s most famous families. Ó Sé is giving up his work as an RTÉ analyst to concentrate on his new role.

John Maughan and Michael Fennelly are also set to be given the green light to continue as Offaly senior football and hurling manager respectively. The former will, however, have to plan without experienced duo Eoin Carroll and Peter Cunningham for the foreseeable future. Carroll is taking a year out to go travelling around Australia, while Cunningham is heading to Syria in October for a six-month tour of duty with the Defence Forces.
