Under 16
Our under 16 girls had their first outing in this year’s championship when our amalgamated team with Naomh Brid took on St Sinchills on Wednesday evening in Kinnitty. Our girls started brightly with Hannah Robinson finding the Sinchills net after a minute of play. Sinchills hit back with a point of their own before Rachel Standish and Molly Hogan pointed for the home team, but then Sinchills took over and scored 2-2 before the water break to leave them leading 2-3 to 1-2.
Once play resumed Sinchills hit over twice before Jennifer Higgins pulled one back. Molly Hogan then found the Sinchills net to finish the scoring before half time to leave Sinchills leading by two points at half time.
The second half however was all Sinchills with Jennifer Higgins hitting the only score for our girls but the visitors hit our girls with an avalanche of scores to leave them comfortable winners.
