Ballycumber GAA Club.

GAA National Club Draw 2020.

GAA National Club Draw 2021 tickets at 10 euro are now on sale. There are great prizes on offer and with all funds raised staying with the Club we ask all members to support this draw. The Club are planning to remove a large section of the Leylandii trees at the Railway Station end of the pitch and construct a Bio Diversity area, including a wild flower garden, fruit trees and native trees. There are also plans to carry out repairs to the Walking Track. The costs involved in carrying out this work will have to be met from Club funds before any funding can be accessed.

Lotto.

The numbers drawn were 2,17,22,30 No jackpot winner, one match three winner.                  Because of Covid 19 restrictions the sale of lotto tickets has reduced and again we ask all members to buy lotto tickets every week. Tickets are on sale in Gussies, from usual lotto sellers and on line at https://www.locallotto.ie/localhome.asp?LL_ID=415.

Next week’s draw will be held in Gussies on Monday evening for a jackpot of 4350 euros.

 

History.

Ballycumber History Group are collecting historical facts about the Boher and Castlearmstrong areas. The group would welcome any information and photographs of Boher Church and Schools, Boher Hall, Guinan’s Field, Castlearmstrong and Castletown Park.

There must be some good stories about dances in Boher Hall.

Offaly.

Best of luck to Jack Quinn and all the Offaly Senior Football panel and management in the Leinster Championship first round game against Carlow next Sunday.

Brosna River.

Congratulations to everyone involved in securing 25,000 euro funding to enhance the River Bank Amenity area on the River Brosna in Ballycumber.

A new Angling Group has been set up, further details from Tony Ennis.
