DIV 4 FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Raheen Junior Footballers went down to their first defeat of the year last Saturday evening when neighbours Ballinagar came up to Geashill and came away with the win on a scoreline of 2-08 to 0-07 in their Div 4 League encounter. Ballinagar dominated the first half scoring 6 points with scores from Jason Darby (2), Gary Martin and Michael James Pierce to which Raheen replied with 2 pointed frees from Dermot Guinan and Eoghan Bolton. This saw Ballinagar go into the break leading by 0-06 to 0-02. The first 10 minutes of the second half saw Raheen claw their way back into the game drawing level as they hit over 4 points in a row from Eoghan Bolton (2) and Dermot Guinan (2). With the game now in the balance it was 2 moments of brilliance from Ballinagar's Gary Martin scoring 2 goals in the 16th and 17th minutes which decided the outcome of the game, the first saw him take a pass from Jason Darby about 20m out and immediately fire a shot to the top left of the net, the second saw him take the ball into the square and fire a shot across goal to the far corner of the net. The remaining 13 minutes saw Ballinagar add a further 2 points to seal the win as Raheen replied with just a pointed free from Eoghan Bolton.

DIV 2 FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Raheen Intermediate Footballers maintained their 100% record in this years Div 2 League campaign with their 4th win in a row as they saw off Bracknagh in Geashill last Sunday evening on a scoreline of 3-14 to 0-04. It was Bracknagh who opened the scoring with a point in the first minute but Raheen responded immediately by scoring their first goal and over the next 20 minutes shot over 4 points to which Bracknagh replied to with a single point. During this time Raheen were unlucky to miss out on about 3 goals so it was inevitable when they scored their second goal in the 25th minute and added 2 points in the remaining minutes of the half. This saw Raheen lead at the break by 2-06 to 0-02. The second half followed a similar pattern with Bracknagh getting the opening point in the 9th minute responded to immediately with a point for Raheen. The game was well and truly over as a contest when Raheen scored their 3rd goal in the 12th minute. Thereafter it was just a question of what the winning margin would be and to this effect Raheen added a further 7 points including 3 in the last 3 minutes to which Bracknagh replied with a single point.

U16 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Na Fianna U16 Footballers suffered their second defeat in this year's Championship campaign as they came out on the wrong side of a 1-08 to 1-06 scoreline against Kilcormac / Killoughey in Mountbolus last Monday evening. Unlike their first encounter, this time Na Fianna will rue a host of missed chances which proved to be decisive in deciding the outcome of the game. The opening 10 minutes saw both sides get off the mark with 2 points apiece with the Na Fianna efforts put over by Niall Dempsey and Eric Dolan. In the 11th minute a K/K lineball saw them quickly work the ball into the square where they got through to score their goal. Over the next 10 minutes Na Fianna added 2 points from Niall Dempsey and Ronan Crombie replied to by a point for K/K. Then in the 22nd minute Na Fianna went in front for the only time in the game when a run down the sideline from Niall Dempsey and Ronan Crombie saw them get the ball into the square where Liam Guinan was on hand to flick the ball to the net for Na Fianna's goal but K/K hit back with 2 points before the break to re-take the lead by 1-05 to 1-04.
