Maureen Hanley turned 100 last Sunday and what better way to celebrate the milestone birthday than by watching her beloved Coolderry.
Sadly for Maureen, Coolderry were well beaten by reigning champions Kilcormac/Killoughey in their Offaly SHC semi-final at Glenisk O’Connor Park, but it still wasn’t a bad weekend for the Tipperary-border club whose second team claimed IHC honours at Drumcullen’s expense in Birr on Saturday.
The Coolderry life president is an incredible Gael who rarely misses a match involving her club or county. She is always accompanied by her daughter Mary, who is also a huge hurling supporter and served as Coolderry secretary a few years ago.
